🔥 JESUS, FRIEND OF SINNERS | WEEK 3: THE RELIGIOUS MAN WHO NEEDED NEW LIFE 🔥

Over the past two weeks we’ve seen Jesus pursue people society labeled “sinners.”

A corrupt tax collector. A social outcast with a painful past.

But this week the story shifts.

Jesus meets a man who wasn’t scandalous or rebellious—he was religious, respected, and disciplined.

His name was Nicodemus.

In John 3, Jesus shows us something powerful: salvation isn’t only for the obviously broken. It’s also for those who look spiritually successful on the outside but still need new life on the inside.

📖 Key Scriptures:

John 3:1–17 • John 8:32

💡 Key Takeaways from This Message:

✅ Jesus Welcomes the Religious Seeker – Nicodemus came at night, possibly out of fear or curiosity. What mattered most was that he came—and Jesus received him. (John 3:1–2)

✅ Religion Isn’t the Same as New Life – Nicodemus had knowledge, discipline, and reputation, but Jesus told him something shocking: “You must be born again.” (John 3:3)

✅ Faith Is About New Birth, Not Better Behavior – Religion can improve behavior, but only the Spirit can transform the heart. (John 3:5–8)

✅ Jesus Walks With Us Through Our Questions – Nicodemus struggled to understand, but Jesus patiently guided him deeper into truth.

✅ Salvation Is Offered to Everyone – Jesus reveals the heart of the gospel:

“For God loved the world…” (John 3:16)

Not just the rebellious.

Not just the religious.

Everyone.

🙌 THE INVITATION

Nicodemus came to Jesus in the dark.

But over time, his faith stepped into the light.

Later he defended Jesus publicly…

And after the crucifixion, he helped bury Him.

The man who came in secret eventually lived in the open.

And that’s the invitation for all of us.

Not religion.

Not reputation.

New life.

Because Jesus isn’t just the Friend of sinners—

He is the Savior who makes sinners new.
