Empowered | Week 1 — Pneuma (Pentecost Sunday)

May 24, 2026    Chuck Tate

The Church was never meant to operate on human strength alone. 🔥

In Week 1 of Empowered, we celebrate Pentecost Sunday and explore the moment the Holy Spirit filled the upper room with power, fire, and boldness. Through Acts 2, we see how ordinary people were transformed when heaven invaded earth.

🕊️ The Greek word Pneuma means breath, wind, and spirit.

You may not physically see the Holy Spirit… but you can absolutely see the evidence when He fills a person.

In this message:

👉 The Holy Spirit brings power for bold living

👉 God wants control of our speech and our witness

👉 Pentecost was loud, disruptive, and impossible to explain away

👉 The Spirit still transforms hearts today

Before Pentecost, their mouths were filled with fear.

After Pentecost, their mouths were filled with fire. 🔥

Key Scripture:

Acts 1:8 — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…”

The same Spirit that filled the upper room is still moving today.
